Rice is the default the kitchen uses when a fancier recipe is missing an ingredient. Several menu guides put that fallback near $10 a plate, pumpkin soup near $144, and pumpkin pie as high as about $560 when pumpkin, milk, and honey are all in stock. One missing honey jar is the difference between those three numbers.
Build a stack, not a single recipe
- Open Manage and review Recipes. Each dish shows the ingredients it will consume.
- Stock the farm and ranch for one gourmet plate you can actually refill. Pumpkin pie is the example that keeps coming up: pumpkin, milk, and honey.
- Leave a backup on that uses the surplus. Pumpkin soup needs pumpkin and milk, so it still sells when honey runs out.
- Turn off cheap plates you do not want, including plain rice, once the backup is stocked. If only the gourmet dish is enabled, a shortage sends every order back to rice.
- Check the pantry during service. A shortage is a farm problem, not a layout problem.
Other dishes named as strong once skills are high include fancy breakfast, beef wellington, harvest stew, and pork ramen. One recipe guide ties those five to level 50 in service, cooking, farming, ranching, and cleaning respectively. That unlock table comes from a single write-up, so confirm the level on the recipe itself before you grind only one skill.
Crop times that feed the menu
| Crop | Reported grow time | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Wheat | 40 seconds | Fast early harvests and flour |
| Pumpkin | 100 seconds | Pie and soup |
| Mushroom | 110 seconds | Situational dishes |
| Cocoa bean | 120 seconds | Situational dishes |
Wheat is the early XP crop because you harvest it far more often than pumpkin. Pumpkin is the money crop once pie or soup is on the menu. Honey comes from beehives, milk from ranch animals, and cheese or flour from the processing station once you have it. See farm setup and the recipe entries.
